Big ECCO Shoes
ECCO is driven by a passion to create comfortable walking gear. A visionary idea that - as the years have progressed - has developed into the philosophy that has brought them to where they are - setting the agenda for the producers of the world's most comfortable and modern footwear for work and leisure. It is quite simple. Footwear for all occasions must be designed and constructed with uncompromising attention to the comfort of the users, functionality will always be ECCO's top priority. Try a pair of ECCO shoes and experience the passion of comfort. |
High Tech and human creativity
Today ECCO leads the field when it comes to working with the most advanced robot technology within the shoe-industry. In fact, ECCO Denmark exports technology to Japan - by many considered the homeland of state-of-the-art high-tech.
The use of advanced technology is vital as it provides us with a variety of advantages - the most important probably being the high, consistent quality that is so characteristic of ECCO. Technology has helped take us where we are today and it is an essential part of our strength in the world market.
Although technology is crucially important, a large part of every shoe is still the result of good, old-fashioned craftsmanship. And prior to the production lies the entire designing phase. In these phases of the process nothing can match the effort of an inspired and dedicated human being. Here technology cannot replace the human touch.
Succeeding the production phase man and robot share the responsibility of securing the ECCO guarantee for the highest possible level of quality. The machines are perfect for testing durability of soles and leather, but only a person can perform the actual approval as every shoe is subject to detailed inspections.
It's the perfect match. Not technology for its own sake, but high-tech to give human ideas and creativity a helping hand in pushing the potential for constant product development.

How can I best take care of my ECCO shoes? Optimal care depends on the materials your ECCO shoes are made of:
- GORE-TEX® ought only to be treated with shoe-care agents specially recommended for GORE-TEX®. Consult your distributor if you are uncertain.
- Leather ought to be cleaned with a moist sponge or cloth. Then thoroughly rub in shoe cream. Polish to remove any remaining shoe cream and to bring out a shine in the leather.
- Nubuck/oiled nubuck ought to be cleaned using a brush or a dry sponge. Never use shoe cream. Always waterproof the shoes before use - spray at a distance of approx. 25 cm (10 inches). Only brush over when the waterproofing agent has dried.
- Microfibre should only be cleaned using a brush or a dry sponge.
Suede should be cleaned with a brush or a dry sponge. Never use shoe cream. Always waterproof the shoes before use - spray at a distance of approx. 25 cm (10 inches). Only brush over when the waterproofing agent has dried. |
Can ECCO shoes withstand being dried in a warming cupboard? Some can, some cannot. So always make sure to read the information on the particular pair of shoes first. There are, however, a few general guidelines that can be borne in mind:
ECCO boots with GORE-TEX® are able to withstand being dried in a warming cupboard. During production, the boots are exposed to temperatures that reach as high as 90°C.
Leather products ought not to be dried in a warming cupboard. Leather that is exposed to heat can dry out and lose its attractive appearance. Furthermore, leather shoes will often shrink slightly. Leather shoes from ECCO are best dried by stuffing them with newspaper. Then allow them to dry at room temperature. |
Do ECCO shoes with GORE-TEX ® mean wearing special socks? Yes, if the GORE-TEX® range is to have optimum effect, you ought to have special socks on. Best are socks made of a mixture of two materials.
We can recommend socks made
- of a mixture of cotton and a synthetic material such as polyamide
- of a mixture of wool and a synthetic material such as polyamide.
